Microwave Research Group (MRG) - Leading Innovation for a Smarter Wireless World

The Microwave Research Group (RG-MRG) is a specialized research entity under CoE-CETRI at FTKEK, UTeM. RG-MRG focuses on the design, development, and innovation of advanced microwave and radio frequency (RF) systems with real-world applications in telecommunications, wireless sensing, RFID, and future 5G/6G networks, Microwave Imaging, AI Techniques in RF and Micowaves.

The MRG, established under the Centre of Excellence for Telecommunication Research and Innovation (CoE-CETRI) at Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), is committed to advancing the frontiers of microwave and RF engineering. Since its inception, RG-MRG has been at the forefront of research and innovation in areas such as antenna design, wireless sensor technologies, RF circuit design, electromagnetic materials and RFID.
The group aims to address both fundamental and applied challenges by integrating theoretical modeling, simulation, and experimental validation. Through interdisciplinary collaboration and industrial engagement, RG-MRG supports Malaysia's national agenda in high-impact technologies such as smart agriculture, healthcare monitoring, wireless communication, and sustainable sensing platforms.
Our research outputs have led to numerous peer-reviewed publications, funded national and international projects, and recognition through awards. By fostering a culture of innovation and excellence, RG-MRG not only contributes to technological advancement but also plays a critical role in training future-ready researchers and engineers.
